Environtech Consultancy Africa Ltd was contracted by Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA) to carry out Environmental and Social Impacts Assessments on the 75km Isebania – Ikerege – Kehancha – Ntimaru – Gwitembe – Ang’ata – Lolgorian Road that tranverse across Migori and Narok Counties. The total cost of the project was Ksh. 2 Billion. The road was proposed to be upgraded from its current gravel to Bitumen Standards. The road project started at Isebania trading Centre (geographic coordinates 1°14’5.23″S, 34°28’57.82″E) at Kenya-Tanzania Border and traverses through Ikerege, Kehancha, Ntimaru, Gwitembe, Ang’ata and and ends at Lolgorian, geographic coordinates 1°13’40.23″S, 34°48’31.88″E. The first road section started at Isebania Centre and ends at Kehancha Town covering an approximate length of 18kms. The second Road section started about 1km from Kenhancha centre then traversing through Kigonga Gwitembe, Ntimaru, Ang’ata centre and terminates at Lolgorian center covering about 57kms. Administratively, the road traversed across Kuria West Sub-county, Kuria East Sub-county, and Ntimaru Sub-County in Migori County and Transmara Sub-county in Narok County.
