Environtech Consultancy Africa Ltd was contracted by Kinde Engineering works ltd in association with Safaricom Ltd to carry out Environmental and Social Impacts Assessment (ESIA) on the proposed 36.226 Kms of Safaricom ltd fibre extension installation project in Kajiado County.
The fibre optic cables installation was an extension of the Nairobi County Safaricom Digital city project. The project continued from Karen (Nairobi County) along Ngong Road to Ngong town via Embul Bul and Ngong Vet town. From Ngong town the installation will continue to Kiserian town through Ngong- Matasia- Kiserian Road and join Magadi road toward Onganta Rongai town and the join the other part of Nairobi County Digital project at Langata Road. The project had tranversed through the following roads and road crossing, Magadi Rd – Forest Line Crossing, Forest Line Road – Ngong Road Crossing, Neema Road – Magadi Road Crossing, Olorua Road – Ngong Road Crossing, Oloika Road, Barabara Mpya and Olkeri Rodi road. The project covered a total length of 36.226 Kms along the road reserves including several Spurs and Ducts connecting to client and surrounding BTS.
ECA successfully completed the ESIA study project and the client was issued with NEMA EIA license permitting Safaricom Ltd to undertake and implement the proposed project.
